Haiti Action Committee is honored to share this statement from Fanmi Lavalas, the people’s party of Haiti. Fanmi Lavalas argues that the current Transitional Presidential Council (TPC) has betrayed the people of Haiti, especially as it has proven unable to provide any semblance of security to the population. In fact, paramilitary violence has reached devastating levels during their rule. The statement calls on honest police to stand with the people and to do their job combatting the death squads that continue to terrorize the population.
As the members of the TPC engage in power struggles and attempt to stay in power, Fanmi Lavalas continues to call for a fundamental change of governance as the only way to bring peace and progress to Haiti.

For the record and for complete disclosure, on December 12, 2024, 8 months after the installation of the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC), Fanmi Lavalas wrote and declared publicly that the TPC had failed.
The scandalous and tragicomic theater currently unfolding is not meant to correct their failure. No, this is gamesmanship to hold on to power because power is sweet in their mouths while life is bitter as bile in the mouths of the People.
Fanmi Lavalas is asking the police not to let the maneuvers of politicians who are fighting for power distract it from providing security. Continue to stand against all gangs, bandits and criminals who refuse to let peace return to every part the country.
The roads must be unblocked.
The Toussaint Louverture Airport must be re-opened.
Security must quickly be restored so that all the victims can return to their homes without delay.
Haitians who are abroad must be able to return to Haiti without fear.
It was security that all of us were waiting for from the TPC, which instead betrayed the trust of the People.
The coffee of Lavalas is pure. It is not filtered with the dregs of treason.
Together, we swear that the country will return to security, and all together this must be achieved.
Alone we are weak, Together we are strong, All Together WE ARE LAVALAS
