This event will be held both in-person in Berkeley, California and on zoom. For zoom registration, click HERE. Donations are appreciated.  No one turned away for lack of funds.

Please join us for Poetry for Haiti to open our hearts, bolster our resistance and to build our shared community — needed more than ever during this time of terrible Israeli war against the Palestinian people, a war championed and armed by the US government. A time when the US is leading the charge to re-invade Haiti already decimated by the US/UN 2004 occupation and overthrow of democracy.

While the Biden administration turns a blind eye to the horrific human suffering and death caused by its actions and policies, we do not. All Poetry for Haiti donations go directly to support Haitian grassroots communities via the Haiti Emergency Relief Fund.

Thanks go to our wonderful co-sponsors East Bay Sanctuary Covenant, Ecumenical Peace Institute/CALC, and St. John’s Presbyterian Church Peace & Justice Commission for their assistance with this event! And thanks to the three dedicated and amazing poets who will join us to share their poetry. We know this will be a special event.

Haiti Emergency Relief Fund gives concrete aid to Haiti’s democratic movement and grassroots community groups organizing to meet Haitians’ needs directly. Suggested tax deductible donation: $10-$50 no one turned away for lack of funds
