The racist Trump administration is in the process of deporting 350,000 Haitians back to a country enveloped in violence. Haitian TPS holders have been here for decades. Among them are 130,000 nurses and home health care workers. They are being sent back to Haiti, where massacres, rapes, and killings occur daily. Haitian refugees are now being humiliated with ankle shackles and hunted in their cars. Most recently, Pierre Damas Bel, 20 years old, despondent over the loss of his ability to live his daily life and haunted by the threat of being deported to Haiti, committed suicide. This is yet another murder by ICE!

Stopping the deportation of Haitians will benefit all those whose TPS has been or will be revoked. For example, nearly 200,000 Salvadorans now face the potential ending of their TPS status.  We stand with them and all refugees who are the targets of the Trump Administration’s ethnic cleansing.

Senate Bill 4814 will extend TPS for Haitians for three years.  If this passes, it will pave the way for others.  Call the Senate and urge passage of this important Bill.
