On the July 15th birthday of Dr. Jean Bertrand Aristide, banners flew in several neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince wishing Haiti’s former President – the first democratically elected president of Haiti – a happy birthday. The english translation of the banner shown here says, “Happy Birthday President Titid [Aristide’s nickname]. When you were President, the country was not like that.”
